"I have had the pleasure of training with Zac for four months now. Prior to this I had reached my highest weight ever of nearly 260lbs. As a woman nearing her 40's the task of losing weight and getting healthy again becomes a bit more difficult with each year that passed. After catching a glimpse of my before pictures I knew I had to make the decision that I had to not only do this for myself but also for my kids. It was hard at first, but with each week i could see myself making baby steps of improvement. I reminded myself frequently that I didn't become overweight and out of shape overnight and therefore I had to be ok with this taking time. Within a short amount of time though, Zac's motivation, encouragement and energy have inspired me to work harder while also gaining a better image of myself. Zac designed an effective workout strategy as well as a detailed meal plan that have helped me to achieve increased muscle mass, fat reduction and an overall weight loss that have helped me make great strides toward my goals. Zac's pleasant disposition, professionalism, and studied knowledge of fitness techniques have led to me being a loyal and long term client. I can say honestly that the investment and commitment to my personal training are the greatest investment I've ever made for myself."-Tamara M, 39
"When I met Zac I was 40-plus days into a successful but uncertain diet. I have been big for my entire life, so this crack at reaching a healthy weight was just the latest in a string of weight loss attempts that had all ended in failure. I tried a couple of fad diets in high school; I practically lived in a gym during my sophomore year of college; I went on a medically-monitored liquid diet for four months in my mid-20s. In every case, whatever weight I lost was eventually put back on – and then some.
I would regularly lie awake at night and promise myself that tomorrow would be the start of something new. Tomorrow I would turn away from my daily diet of fast food, junk food and soda. Tomorrow I would exercise for the first time in a decade. Tomorrow I would change. That ironclad resolve that I found lying in bed every night would always melt away the following morning when faced with frozen waffles or some trash fast food breakfast sandwich. I would go to bed later that night and have the same exact conversations with myself. Rinse and repeat.
Last June, after weighing in at 370 pounds and realizing that I was on track to balloon past 400 or even 500 pounds before I hit my 40s, I resolved to change. I dumped the fast food and soda. I reduced my caloric intake. I began to eat healthier. Yet as the number on the scale decreased – and it went down pretty quickly – the doubts multiplied. Can I keep this up? How am I going to succeed with this attempt when past tries have failed? How long until the “real me” takes over and I return to my old habits?
I knew that if I was going to succeed where I had failed in the past, I was going to have to pair diet with exercise – discipline with hard work. I also recognized that I needed help. So 40 days into this process, I joined a gym and bought a handful of training sessions with Zac.
More than just the nuts and bolts of working out – what exercises to do and how – I needed someone who understood where I was coming from, someone who would help me push past my doubts and perceived physical limits and, most importantly, someone who would hold me accountable. Zac has been all of those things.
Even though I was down about 50 pounds when I met Zac, I was still embarrassingly out of shape. I couldn’t do one normal push-up and was completely wrecked after just 10 minutes on an elliptical. The first week was tough. I was so sore that I could barely move. I couldn’t extend my arms all the way, and even getting off the couch was an ordeal.
Eventually, the soreness subsided. The sessions with Zac went from grueling mental and physical tests to activities that I looked forward to and enjoyed. Plus, the work I was putting in with Zac and progress I was making with my strength training made it easier to stay disciplined with my nutrition choices.
Zac was with me every step of the way, in and out of the gym. He answered all of my questions. He helped steer me in the right direction with some of my food choices. When I decided to train on my own two days a week to further compliment my three weekly sessions with him, Zac walked me through step-by-step what exercises I needed to do in order to maximize my results.
I began to chip away at milestone numbers in the gym and on the scale. I went from simple body weight squats to squatting 245 pounds, from being unable to do a normal push-up to easily knocking out shoulder-tap push-ups. Fifty pounds lost on my own turned to 75 after working with Zac for two months, then 100, then 125 and most recently 165. All in less than 100 workout sessions with Zac.
Zac has changed my life and I don’t say that lightly. He truly has. If you go in with an open mind and a sincere desire to change, I know he can do for you what he’s done for me. "
"Zac Kann is one of the most knowledgeable and compassionate trainers I have ever worked with. His ability to come up with work outs that are actually engaging and fun is truly amazing. He would create simple, yet challenging workouts that enabled me to progress quickly. I could tell he was fully committed to helping me attain my goals, even providing me with a customized meal plan that was easy to follow and delicious. His constant encouragement provided me the ability to not only change my body, but gave me confidence in myself.
In just a three month timeframe, Zac was able to help me lose 20 inches and 21 pounds. While I am proud of those numbers, there is something he provided that cannot be measured….Confidence, pride and self-worth.
I will never be able to Thank him enough for what he has done for me personally; therefore I highly recommend Zac Kann to anyone ready to get fit and feel better.
Zac is a truly amazing person and trainer!"
